Camille and Ben’s pre-wedding shoot at Buncombe County Courthouse was a celebration of their love and appreciation of art. They chose the courthouse for its unexpected art deco beauty - an elegant, timeless backdrop that felt like it was made for them. A few days before their wedding, they took the time to capture these special moments, wandering through the streets of downtown, admiring its classic buildings, and letting the day unfold naturally. We strolled to a local hotdog stand just outside the courthouse, stopped at charming street corners, and finished their afternoon at The Times Bar, sipping cocktails and relishing the joy of being together before the big day.
Camille wore a stunning custom wedding dress by Chelsea Mak, paired with chic Reformation shoes, while Ben rocked his signature style with boots and a custom bolo tie (with "Sweet Millie" engraved on it). Though they now live in Portland, OR, their hearts are rooted in the South, where they were both born and raised. The two met in a park during the pandemic and became inseparable almost instantly. This pre-wedding shoot gave them the chance to fully enjoy each other, capturing intimate, stress-free portraits before the rush of wedding day events. It’s a beautiful reminder of how taking time for a dedicated shoot allows couples to savor the quiet moments, creating memories they’ll treasure forever.
Shot on color and b&w 35mm, 120 format and Polaroid.
